The director of the International Society for the Circular Economy, Ken Webster, recently visited the facilities of the ECOAQUA University Institute, dependent of the ULPGC, where he met with researcher Lidia Robaina from the Aquaculture Research Group and know about the activities of the ISLANDAP ADVANCED project.
This project is part of the INTERREG V-A Spain - Portugal MAC (Madeira - Açores - Canary Islands) cooperation programme, focused on achieving new objectives on food security, waste reduction and efficient use of resources in the Outermost Regions.
Ken Webster, who gave the inaugural lecture of the University Expert Degree in Circular Economy in Isolated Territories promoted by the ULPGC and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, is one of the most relevant authors in the field of the circular economy, and is the author of works such as "The circular economy: A wealth of flows", a reference manual on the subject, in which he analyses the connections between systemic thinking and economic opportunities, and its possibilities for generating this type of economy.
